Controlling Foot Pain with Orthotics

When something is wrong with our eyes or our teeth, most of us quickly head to the eye doctor or dentist to get the problem fixed. There is something different with foot pain, it seems, that keeps people from getting it taken care of. At Dallas Podiatry Works, we have seen many people over the […]

How to Recover from Foot Surgery

What happens after surgery matters almost as much than what happens during surgery. Sometimes, it even matters more! No matter how skilled your surgeon may be, his or her hard work can always be undone if their patient doesn’t follow directions, doesn’t protect their healing foot, and doesn’t follow through with rest and rehab. When […]

What to Consider Before a Foot Surgery

In an emergency, you may not always have time to prepare yourself physically or emotionally before a surgery. But when the operation is an elective procedure, such as a bunion surgery, you often have significant flexibility in terms of setting the date and time to get yourself ready for what’s coming. Once you’ve considered your options […]

When Is Foot Surgery an Option?

At Dallas Podiatry Works, all of our doctors are highly skilled and highly trained foot and ankle surgeons. We regularly perform all kinds of surgeries, from complex rearfoot reconstructions, to ankle repair, to bunion removal. But that doesn’t mean we’re eager to put you under the knife, either. While most surgeries we perform are safe and […]

What is Gout?

Hello, My name is Dr. Irene Arroyo and I am one of the podiatrists at Dallas Podiatry Works in Dallas and Plano. Today I am going to talk about gout. Gout is: a type of inflammatory arthridity. The big toe joint is the most common joint affected but it can occur in other joints such as ankles, knees, and […]

What to Know About Summer Footwear and Your Feet

May in Dallas means it’s hot and only going to get hotter. (In addition to being uncomfortable, it’s a great way to pick up a fungal infection.) On the other hand, wearing flimsy flip flops for days on end can be problematic for your feet, too. Below, you’ll find a few footwear tips for navigating […]

Are Orthotics a Good Choice for Children?

If your child is howling with foot pain, is orthotics an appropriate and effective way to help them? We get this question a lot. At Dallas Podiatry Works, we help fit patients with custom orthotics every day using advanced technology. However, often these are made for adults, whose feet (with a few exceptions) usually change shape slowly. […]

When to Replace Your Old Athletic Shoes

In 1962, Neil Sedaka famously crooned that “breaking up is hard to do.” He probably wasn’t talking about his favorite pair of running or athletic shoes, but for those of us who enjoy active lifestyles, the bond between an athlete and his or her comfiest pair of old sneakers is often very real! However, while […]

How to Tell When Your Loved One Should See a Podiatrist

Our modern world is a busy one and it’s easy to lose track of things even when we aren’t worried about finding the perfect gift or baking the best cookies. One thing you never want to lose sight of, though, is keeping yourself and your loved ones healthy and happy. You care about your loved […]

Things that Go Bump on the Foot

Unexpected bumps in the night can be quite spooky. You’re not sure what caused them and you’re left wondering if it’s a sign of danger or a problem that can wait for morning. The same can be said for unexpected bumps on the side of your foot. An unusual foot bump is a sign that […]

The doctor has great “bedside manners” when talking to patients. Great staff and comfortable atmosphere.

The staff at Dallas Podiatry Works could not have been more courteous, helpful, and professional in doing their job. They made me feel comfortable when I was there, which is certainly appreciated. They answered all the questions that I had and just made each visit the most pleasurable that it could be. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of foot care.

I would highly recommend Dr. Brook to anyone with foot problems–especially problems that stump other podiatrists. He really is very caring and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Joel Brook and the staff were nice and helpful. Though I was a new patient, I got right in as soon as they were open in my preferred location. They diagnosed the problem and provided medicines along with a perfect gel bandage so I could keep exercising while my toes healed. My toes already hurt less and look a little better each day. If I have future issues, I will be a repeat customer. Here’s hoping I don’t, but at least I know my feet are in good hands.

I visited this office for an ingrown toe nail a few years ago. After seeing another doctor, who made it worse, he referred me to Dallas Podiatry Works. The doctor there was able to fix my problem. I’m not great with reviews, all I can tell you is that this doctor and staff will have you up and running or doing whatever it is you do in no time. You will be in great hands. You’d be a fool not to use this doctor. Now its time to visit him again for the other toe.
