When something is wrong with our eyes or our teeth, most of us quickly head to the eye doctor or dentist to get the problem fixed. There is something different with foot pain, it seems, that keeps people from getting it taken care of. At Dallas Podiatry Works, we have seen many people over the […]
Pedicures are a great way to pamper yourself after a long workweek, but the risk of infection from nail salons and spas can be rather high. We don’t want to let the fear of a nasty fungal infection ruin your opportunity to receive the relaxing benefits that a safe pedicure in Dallas or Plano can […]

Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the toenails that can affect the nails of individuals of any age. Generally, these fungi are found on the outer layers of the skin and slowly spread on to the nail plate. Treatment of onychomycosis can be complicated because these fungi live in dead tissue, where it’s hard for […]
Let’s take a look at the various injuries at the midfoot region known as the Lisfranc joint complex, how they can develop, and what symptoms can be experienced. In most instances, a midfoot injury develops in response to an abnormal twisting motion in the foot. It is usually sustained when your foot is flexed downward […]
We get it: everyone’s looking to save a few bucks. That’s why, for example, we reuse our same pair of casual, everyday tennis shoes for gym and court sports. Or why we outfit our children with footwear from the used sporting goods store (or just give them the cleats and gear that big sister or […]
When you think “heel pain,” you’re probably imagining a middle-aged adult after a hard day of work or a long run or hike. It’s supposed to be a condition for the old and older! So it can be concerning for a parent when their active teenager complains of heel pain, especially when it’s strong enough […]
Football season is BIG in Texas! If you’re a fan, you’re looking forward to getting those action-packed weekends back: high schools on Friday, college on Saturday, pros on Sunday. If you’ve got a child playing under the Friday night lights, the excitement is especially high. That said, due to the grueling and physical nature of […]
An ounce of prevention … yeah, yeah, you’ve heard this one before. Worth a pound of cure, right? It’s a cheesy cliché, we know. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Being proactive about your foot care and taking the right steps to prevent an injury is a lot better (and easier, and cheaper) in […]
What happens after surgery matters almost as much than what happens during surgery. Sometimes, it even matters more! No matter how skilled your surgeon may be, his or her hard work can always be undone if their patient doesn’t follow directions, doesn’t protect their healing foot, and doesn’t follow through with rest and rehab. When […]
The doctor has great “bedside manners” when talking to patients. Great staff and comfortable atmosphere.

The staff at Dallas Podiatry Works could not have been more courteous, helpful, and professional in doing their job. They made me feel comfortable when I was there, which is certainly appreciated. They answered all the questions that I had and just made each visit the most pleasurable that it could be. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of foot care.

I would highly recommend Dr. Brook to anyone with foot problems–especially problems that stump other podiatrists. He really is very caring and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Joel Brook and the staff were nice and helpful. Though I was a new patient, I got right in as soon as they were open in my preferred location. They diagnosed the problem and provided medicines along with a perfect gel bandage so I could keep exercising while my toes healed. My toes already hurt less and look a little better each day. If I have future issues, I will be a repeat customer. Here’s hoping I don’t, but at least I know my feet are in good hands.

I visited this office for an ingrown toe nail a few years ago. After seeing another doctor, who made it worse, he referred me to Dallas Podiatry Works. The doctor there was able to fix my problem. I’m not great with reviews, all I can tell you is that this doctor and staff will have you up and running or doing whatever it is you do in no time. You will be in great hands. You’d be a fool not to use this doctor. Now its time to visit him again for the other toe.
