What to Expect when Scheduling Foot Surgery
by Dr. David R. Northcutt
Dr. David Northcutt is a podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon at Dallas Podiatry Works in TX.
“Hi, my name is Jessica, and today I will go over the process of scheduling surgery. Unfortunately, sometimes conservative care may not always work, and at this time, either of our doctors will go over surgical intervention.
We offer two locations for surgery. Either Merit Drive Dallas Hospital, or North Central Surgical Center. Surgery will consist of a few fees. First will be the doctor’s fee, second will be from the anesthesiologist, third will be from the surgical center of your choice, and the last may be a pathologist, and that’s if needed. You are responsible to contact the surgical center of your choice, as far as their fee.
We will have you come into our office two weeks before your pre-op appointment, which will consist of the doctor’s fee, going over all of the paperwork, taking bloodwork, and it’s highly important that if you have any sort of short term disability paperwork, that you bring this at this time. We will also dispense your medications, which will be called into the pharmacy of your choice.
Our doctors will inform you if you may need any surgical clearance from any of your other healthcare providers. We try to make the surgery scheduling process as comfortable as we possibly can. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. Thank you for being our patient, we are honored to be part of your healthcare team!”
