Foot and Ankle Injuries

Metatarsal Stress Fractures

Our bones are quite strong and do a remarkable job of providing structure, but they are not indestructible. When subjected to excessive forces, either in a single traumatic event or repeatedly over time, cracks can develop. The foot and ankle bones, including the metatarsals, are able to endure substantial force loads, but overuse can lead […]

Achilles Tendinitis: Symptoms and Solutions

Certain injuries bring patients into our Dallas and Plano, TX offices more often than others. When they do, there is often a reason behind the frequent occurrences. In the case of Achilles tendinitis, this can be explained by the constant role the Achilles tendon plays in allowing us to be mobile and participate in many […]

Peroneal Tendinosis: An Overuse Injury in Your Ankle

A common root cause of foot and ankle injuriesis overuse, which makes sense; think of how frequently your lower limbs and appendages are used on a daily basis. Also contributing is the fact that your feet and ankles are constructed from an intricate arrangement of many parts, including the ligaments and tendons that hold everything together. […]

Understanding Fall Prevention

When you think of gravity, you might conjure the proverbial image of Sir Isaac Newton sitting under the tree and getting hit in the head by a falling apple, but Dallas Podiatry Works thinks about fall prevention measures for our patients! We know that everyone falls victim to gravity’s pull sooner or later. This is […]

Ankle Surgery- Repairing the Complex

The lower extremity really is an incredible design in motion. So many parts and pieces work together to make even the smallest movement possible. Unfortunately, our bodies aren’t invincible. When a traumatic injury occurs or conservative efforts have failed to help, surgery is sometimes needed to put the parts and pieces back together. A Complex Mechanism The […]

Breaks, Sprains, or Fractures: What’s the Difference?

Imagine you’re running when you stumble over a large crack in the pavement. You feel a sudden, sharp pain in your foot. Whenever you try to move your lower limb, it hurts, and you have to limp to keep walking. What did you injure—a bone, or the supporting connective tissues? When a problem occurs inside your […]

Ankle Instability: When You Didn’t Heal Well the First Time

You’ve probably felt it before: you push off the ground to sprint toward the finish line, or dribble the soccer ball, or catch the Frisbee thrown at the park, when you feel the twinge in your ankle. Sometimes it’s just a slight pain and you push on, hardly noticing. Other times it forces you to […]

Stretches for the Feet and Ankles

The next time you watch an exercise DVD, pay special attention to the time spent on stretching the feet and ankles.  It’s likely that your favorite exercise guru completely ignores these areas of the body.  This seems counterintuitive when you consider that your feet are bearing up to four times or more the body’s weight […]

Stress Fracture: Splitting the Skeleton

Do you trust wooden planks with visible cracks to hold your weight? If you’re smart, you test their strength before trusting them. You do that because you know cracks weaken solid objects, even if they don’t cut all the way through. Weight or force on those weak points makes objects even less stable and more […]

The doctor has great “bedside manners” when talking to patients. Great staff and comfortable atmosphere.

The staff at Dallas Podiatry Works could not have been more courteous, helpful, and professional in doing their job. They made me feel comfortable when I was there, which is certainly appreciated. They answered all the questions that I had and just made each visit the most pleasurable that it could be. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of foot care.

I would highly recommend Dr. Brook to anyone with foot problems–especially problems that stump other podiatrists. He really is very caring and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Joel Brook and the staff were nice and helpful. Though I was a new patient, I got right in as soon as they were open in my preferred location. They diagnosed the problem and provided medicines along with a perfect gel bandage so I could keep exercising while my toes healed. My toes already hurt less and look a little better each day. If I have future issues, I will be a repeat customer. Here’s hoping I don’t, but at least I know my feet are in good hands.

I visited this office for an ingrown toe nail a few years ago. After seeing another doctor, who made it worse, he referred me to Dallas Podiatry Works. The doctor there was able to fix my problem. I’m not great with reviews, all I can tell you is that this doctor and staff will have you up and running or doing whatever it is you do in no time. You will be in great hands. You’d be a fool not to use this doctor. Now its time to visit him again for the other toe.
