If your child is howling with foot pain, is orthotics an appropriate and effective way to help them? We get this question a lot. At Dallas Podiatry Works, we help fit patients with custom orthotics every day using advanced technology. However, often these are made for adults, whose feet (with a few exceptions) usually change shape slowly. […]
Pairing your child with the right shoes can be tricky—and even sometimes expensive! A large part of the reason is because kids’ feet grow so fast. When you’re an adult, of course, your feet don’t change much from year to year. A pair of shoes that is well made, properly cared for, and only used […]
Childhood and teen years tend to be one of the most physically active times in a person’s life. From an early age, most kids develop an eagerness to run, race, throw, kick, and chase down soccer balls with reckless abandon. Many of them continue to play as they get older, joining school or travel teams […]
At Dallas Podiatry Works, we love to see families encourage their kids to be active. Even if your little one doesn’t much care for organized sports, vigorous outdoor play is good for developing healthy bodies and minds. Plus, most kids seem to have boundless energy anyway! Unfortunately, that energy can be sapped quite quickly if […]
Heel pain is most common among those with a bit of life experience—those hard miles add up by the time you reach middle age, and you don’t quite have the capacity to heal and recover that you used to. It isn’t supposed to be something that affects kids. Yet it often does, and that can be very […]
In 1962, Neil Sedaka famously crooned that “breaking up is hard to do.” He probably wasn’t talking about his favorite pair of running or athletic shoes, but for those of us who enjoy active lifestyles, the bond between an athlete and his or her comfiest pair of old sneakers is often very real! However, while […]
Running and sports put feet and ankles to the test. Over the course of a few hours (or even a few minutes) you need to be able to run, jump, land, cut, pivot, plant, juke, and more. This places enormous stress on your lower limbs, and you expect them to do their job without pain […]
Whew! What a workout, huh? We can imagine you’re probably tired now — after all, it’s normal to feel that way after physical activity, right down to your feet! When you think about it, running long distances or jumping up and down can put a lot of strain on your feet, so it’s not surprising […]
So you’ve decided to start running. That’s great news! Regular running can provide a host of benefits that significantly improve your life, including better heart health, sounder sleep, happier moods, weight loss, stronger and more injury-resistant muscles and joints, and more. However, it’s important that you have a good plan in place before you start […]
People like to associate pedicures with luxury. They’re a fun and relaxing way to pamper your feet. What’s not fun and relaxing, of course, are the risks of infections and poor nail care that can come with going to a traditional salon. Unless they have excellent sanitation and technicians with extensive training so they’re less likely […]
Your Top-Rated Podiatrist in the Dallas & Fort Worth Metroplex
The doctor has great “bedside manners” when talking to patients. Great staff and comfortable atmosphere.

The staff at Dallas Podiatry Works could not have been more courteous, helpful, and professional in doing their job. They made me feel comfortable when I was there, which is certainly appreciated. They answered all the questions that I had and just made each visit the most pleasurable that it could be. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of foot care.

I would highly recommend Dr. Brook to anyone with foot problems–especially problems that stump other podiatrists. He really is very caring and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Joel Brook and the staff were nice and helpful. Though I was a new patient, I got right in as soon as they were open in my preferred location. They diagnosed the problem and provided medicines along with a perfect gel bandage so I could keep exercising while my toes healed. My toes already hurt less and look a little better each day. If I have future issues, I will be a repeat customer. Here’s hoping I don’t, but at least I know my feet are in good hands.

I visited this office for an ingrown toe nail a few years ago. After seeing another doctor, who made it worse, he referred me to Dallas Podiatry Works. The doctor there was able to fix my problem. I’m not great with reviews, all I can tell you is that this doctor and staff will have you up and running or doing whatever it is you do in no time. You will be in great hands. You’d be a fool not to use this doctor. Now its time to visit him again for the other toe.
