MediCure – Our Medical Pedicure

The idea of a pedicure begins with good intentions. You just want to send your hard-working feet a little extra love and attention. Sitting back in a chair and letting someone else work on your toes and skin can feel refreshing and relieve a lot of stress and tension. The problem arises in the fact that you must be certain that the nail salon you choose practices hygienic procedures and that they are effective. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. You deserve to be pampered without concerns, so we are proud to offer MediCure – our medical pedicure.

Beware of Salon Pedicures

Did you know that it takes at least 10 minutes for sterilizing agents at nail salons to be effective? If not, how can you be sure that the people taking care of your feet are really taking care of your feet?

The reason sterilization is so important in the foot care industry is because feet are a breeding ground for microorganisms. Fungus and bacteria thrive in warm, dark environments and do not require sunlight to survive.

The American Academy of Dermatology warns that getting a pedicure where there are not the proper precautions, hygiene, and sterilization will not guarantee safety against health risks, including fungal infections and bacterial skin infections.

As they say, it’s better to be safe than sorry! Entrepreneurs and athletes often have to gamble in certain situations—but this shouldn’t be the case when you get a pedicure. Well, not to worry—Dallas Podiatry Works is proud to eliminate the risk by now offering medical pedicures!

MediCure is a safe, hygienic pedicure performed in an environment that is guaranteed clean (to medical standards) and performed by our team of experienced, certified professionals.

When you call to schedule your appointment, our staff will ask the following questions:

Are you Diabetic?
Do you have poor circulation?
Do you have any amputations?

If the answer is YES to any of those questions, you will need to see one of our Podiatrists before being able to schedule your MediCure appointment.

All NEW patients will be booked for a 1-hour time frame for the initial assessment and MediCure. Price $100

All EXISTING/ROUTINE patients will be booked for a 30-minute time frame for MediCure. Price $70

Your MediCure will include:

Examination of your toenails & feet for abnormalities that may require podiatric treatment.
Clip, shape & file your toenails.
Safely remove Calluses.
Clean & exfoliate your feet thoroughly.
Safely smooth out any rough patches on your toenails.
Completed with a luxurious rejuvenating treatment. Our medical professionals use a special foot scrub and oil treatment to help keep your skin clean, lubricated & healthy.

Our DPW doctors recommend getting your MediCure every 4 weeks to maintain optimum foot health.

Dr. Joel Brook and the staff were nice and helpful. Though I was a new patient, I got right in as soon as they were open in my preferred location. They diagnosed the problem and provided medicines along with a perfect gel bandage so I could keep exercising while my toes healed. My toes already hurt less and look a little better each day. I visited this office for an ingrown toe nail a few years ago. After seeing another doctor, who made it worse, he referred me to Dallas Podiatry Works. The doctor there was able to fix my problem. I’m not great with reviews, all I can tell you is that this doctor and staff will have you up and running or doing whatever it is you do in no time. You will be in great hands. You’d be a fool not to use this doctor. Now its time to visit him again for the other toe.
