Distorted, discolored nails from fungal infections can be embarrassing. They change the whole appearance of your foot from healthy to unhealthy. Many different treatments are available to eliminate the fungus and return your toes to health. However, while the affected toes are healing, they still look damaged. If you’ve taken the step to treat your nails, and you’re concerned about their appearance, you don’t have to hide your feet. The KeryFlex™ nail restoration procedure produces a realistic nail substitute that allows you to show off your toes while your natural nail tissue grows underneath.
KeryFlex™: A Different Kind of Artificial Nail
The KeryFlex™ technology is a specially developed resin gel. It’s attached to a portion of your damaged nail tissue, covering it without sticking to your skin. That way your natural nail can regrow underneath it. The gel substance is hard enough to protect your toe from damage, but flexible enough to handle your foot’s movement. It can be shaped to follow the contours of your nail and matched to the color as well. It’s safe to use polish and polish remover on it, so if you want to decorate your toes, you can.
When you come in for a treatment, Drs. Joel Brook, Arroyo, and McClurkin first debride the affected tissues. Then the resin is carefully brushed onto the nail bed and the layers built up. From there our expert doctors can sculpt the resin until it matches the curve and shape of your natural nail. Once you and the doctors are satisfied with the result, the gel is sealed and allowed to dry. Then a final layer of a bonding substance is applied, and everything is hardened under an ultraviolet light. Once the resin has set, the nail is buffed for smoothness and you are sent on your way with beautiful toes.
The whole process takes roughly 10-15 minutes per toe, and the nail lasts between six to eight weeks before needing to be reapplied. During that time, your new nail is still growing underneath the artificial one– healthy and protected from damage.
Benefits to the KeryFlex™ Procedure
For anyone who is struggling with the appearance of their toes while recovering from a fungal nail infection, this is the best option available. The procedure has no known side effects and can be reversed at any time. It works best when paired with a laser treatment or nail surgery, so that the fungus is completely eliminated from the toe before the artificial nail is applied. Each KeryFlex™ treatment uses a new kit, so you are never exposed to someone else’s infection.
You don’t have to wait months for your natural nails to heal to feel comfortable removing your socks and showing off your toes again. This special resin allows your toes to look their best while they recover. Your Top-Rated Podiatrist in the Dallas & Fort Worth Metroplex
The doctor has great “bedside manners” when talking to patients. Great staff and comfortable atmosphere.

The staff at Dallas Podiatry Works could not have been more courteous, helpful, and professional in doing their job. They made me feel comfortable when I was there, which is certainly appreciated. They answered all the questions that I had and just made each visit the most pleasurable that it could be. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of foot care.

I would highly recommend Dr. Brook to anyone with foot problems–especially problems that stump other podiatrists. He really is very caring and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Joel Brook and the staff were nice and helpful. Though I was a new patient, I got right in as soon as they were open in my preferred location. They diagnosed the problem and provided medicines along with a perfect gel bandage so I could keep exercising while my toes healed. My toes already hurt less and look a little better each day. If I have future issues, I will be a repeat customer. Here’s hoping I don’t, but at least I know my feet are in good hands.

I visited this office for an ingrown toe nail a few years ago. After seeing another doctor, who made it worse, he referred me to Dallas Podiatry Works. The doctor there was able to fix my problem. I’m not great with reviews, all I can tell you is that this doctor and staff will have you up and running or doing whatever it is you do in no time. You will be in great hands. You’d be a fool not to use this doctor. Now its time to visit him again for the other toe.
