Our goal here at Dallas Podiatry Works is to take away any foot, ankle, or heel pain you may experience, but we would rather know that you were able to avoid it in the first place! There are two ways that we can do so: identify painful shoes that increase your risk for discomfort or use dermal injections to make it more comfortable to wear stylish shoes.
Any Dallas or Plano, TX podiatrist worth his weight will make sure you know that high-heeled shoes like stilettos, pumps, and wedges shift pressure forward to the balls of your feet, which can create balance problems. This also can contribute to the pain caused by toe deformities like bunions and hammertoes. The excessive height also causes issues for your Achilles tendon and the nerves in the front of your foot.
Painful heels are not the only problem that footwear can cause. Flip-flops and sandals, particularly those that do not offer adequate support, may lead to plantar fasciitis. Ballet flats also have little-to-no support and lack the cushioning your feet need to handle the tremendous amounts of pressure faced in the 10,000 steps an average person takes during the course of a day.
As we mentioned, one way to avoid heel pain and foot issues is to avoid certain styles of shoes, but the other is to have proactive treatment performed in the form of dermal injections. Our office provides a service that is becoming affectionately known as a “Loub Job” that provides extra cushioning for your feet. This allows you to comfortably wear shoe styles that would otherwise be quite painful for you.
Our dermal injection therapy consists of one of two different FDA-approved fillers and enhances the natural padding on the bottoms of your feet. The procedure itself is rather easy and can provide immediate benefits for you.
We can help you by providing more information, treating an issue that is causing you heel pain, or taking a proactive approach and using dermal injections to prevent painful conditions. No matter which path works best for you, call Dallas Podiatry Works at 972.853.7100. You can also use our online form to request your appointment at either our Plano or Dallas, TX offices today!
The doctor has great “bedside manners” when talking to patients. Great staff and comfortable atmosphere.
The staff at Dallas Podiatry Works could not have been more courteous, helpful, and professional in doing their job. They made me feel comfortable when I was there, which is certainly appreciated. They answered all the questions that I had and just made each visit the most pleasurable that it could be. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of foot care.
I would highly recommend Dr. Brook to anyone with foot problems–especially problems that stump other podiatrists. He really is very caring and very knowledgeable.
Dr. Joel Brook and the staff were nice and helpful. Though I was a new patient, I got right in as soon as they were open in my preferred location. They diagnosed the problem and provided medicines along with a perfect gel bandage so I could keep exercising while my toes healed. My toes already hurt less and look a little better each day. If I have future issues, I will be a repeat customer. Here’s hoping I don’t, but at least I know my feet are in good hands.
I visited this office for an ingrown toe nail a few years ago. After seeing another doctor, who made it worse, he referred me to Dallas Podiatry Works. The doctor there was able to fix my problem. I’m not great with reviews, all I can tell you is that this doctor and staff will have you up and running or doing whatever it is you do in no time. You will be in great hands. You’d be a fool not to use this doctor. Now its time to visit him again for the other toe.
Been having bad ankle pains for 6 months was referred here and it was a great visit ladies in the front desk medical assistants and the Doctor were all very friendly and make you feel very comfortable.
