Nam T. Tran, DPM, is a Boston native. In 2008 he earned his bachelor’s degree in Audio and Media Technologies at The New England Institute of Art. While working in the music industry after graduation, Dr. Tran also volunteered at a children’s hospital where he discovered his true passion for being in medicine, focusing within the realm of sports medicine. It was at this point that he hoped to help athletes and fitness conscious people stay on their feet, performing at their best. As an undergraduate, Dr. Tran participated in research in the Department of Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Tran then went on to receive his doctorate in podiatric medicine at The New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2016. During that time, Dr. Tran received scholarships from: New York College of Podiatric Medicine, American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Educational Fou., Pre-Clinical Sciences Award for Research, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), and APMA CrocsRx Scholarship.
Dr. Tran completed his residency training at Medstar Georgetown University, Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Tran received thorough training in areas of limb salvage, reconstructive surgery, and sports medicine. He is well-versed in new innovative technologies for the health and wellness of the lower extremities.
Dr. Tran maintains a conservative approach to treatment, which equates to the Dallas Podiatry Works mission. He implements more aggressive surgical intervention when necessary, and is committed to finding realistic goals with his patients and working together to achieve them.
Dr. Tran recently moved to the lone star state with his amazing westie poodle! Dr. Tran is fluent in both English and Vietnamese. In his free time, Dr. Tran enjoys outdoors hiking with his dog, traveling on surfing trips, and playing guitar. Also, he is a food connoisseur, seeking out new restaurants to try with his friends and family.
