Removing Spider VeinsAre you busy standing in front of the mirror examining all of the imperfections that weigh heavily on your conscious and sub-conscious? Are you wishing you could make those annoying spider veins disappear off the back of your leg?   Do you hate that scar from an accident or are you suffering buyer’s remorse for that spur of the moment decision you made to get “inked?” Well, take heart. Due to technology developments, Dallas Podiatry Works has ways of helping you restore yourself.  Restoration may not put you back exactly the way you were, but significant strides can be made.

Sclerotherapy is a fairly new treatment for treating spider veins. It is quick, easy and nearly painless. The treatment may have to be repeated several times, but clearing of the skin is possible. These tiny veins lie just below the surface of the skin and appear blue or red in color. Spider veins are caused by a back flow of blood when valves in veins do not completely block back flow as intended. Sclerotherapy involves a solution being injected in the area of the spider veins. This solution is commonly a saline solution that causes the collapse of the spider veins. Although the skin may temporarily be left with a bruised appearance, the veins eventually get absorbed into your system and normal appearance is restored.

If you are bothered by the appearance of a scar, modern medicine cannot correct it completely, but you may wish to consider scar revision.  Through laser therapy, Drs. Brook and Northcutt can reduce the unpleasant appearance dramatically. If you are a non-smoker, are otherwise healthy and are free of acne in the general location of the scar, ask us about scar revision.

Tattoo removal used to be nearly impossible, but with Q switch laser technology it is now nearly possible. It may not be possible to get all the ink stains out, but most of it can be significantly faded.  Also, it is not the same painful processes that were used in the past. Some ink colors are more difficult to remove than other colors. If you are bothered by an old tattoo and want it removed, call Dr. Brook in Dallas at (972) 566-7474 or Dr. Northcutt in Plano at (972) 943-3323 and get their best advice on these cosmetic procedures that can restore your self-confidence and get your feet back to the healthy state you desire.
