Share Your Shoes: Helping Those in Need
When you put on your shoes this morning, did you stop to think about it? Chances are, the answer is no. We put on shoes every day without a second thought. Now, imagine having shoes that are so worn and tattered that they’re barely holding together. Or having no shoes at all. These are the experiences of veterans who don’t have access to the resources to help them live comfortable lives and of the women and children who flee their violent environments and lack the time to pack the even the essentials.
As experts in podiatry, Drs. Brook and Northcutt of Dallas Podiatry Works, know how important a pair of shoes is to the health of your feet. They are proud and honored to be working with the Genesis Women’s Shelter and the local VA in the Share Your Shoes Program.
Do you want the chance to make a difference in your community? It’s amazing how such a seemingly simple gesture as donating a pair of unneeded shoes can mean the world to someone.
Raid your closets! Find that pair of sneakers or sandals that never gets worn and take part in Share Your Shoes. Get your entire family involved! Help your kids sort through the shoes they never wear and give them the opportunity to help those in need.
New and used shoes will be collected, sorted, and distributed to the Genesis Women’s Shelter and to veterans in need through the VA. If you have any questions about the Share Your Shoes program, connect with us online.
