It’s time for your visit to your foot doctor—how are you getting ready? Many people don’t think about preparing much for a podiatry visit ahead of time, but you should. Preparing for your appointment helps you make sure all your concerns are addressed and your questions are answered. It can also make your check-in and general appointment time go more smoothly. Preparing for a podiatry visit doesn’t have to be difficult or take up much time, but it’s worth the effort.

It’s a chance to address your lower limb pain and get your questions answered, so you can get back on your feet as quickly as possible. Preparing for your appointment helps you check in smoothly and quickly, provide the most information you can to your podiatrist, and remember everything you wanted to discuss.

The best way to prepare is determine everything you’ll need for your appointment and gather it together beforehand so you don’t forget anything. For your check in, you’ll need your insurance cards and an ID so any personal information needed can be updated. At Dallas Podiatry Works, we also provide forms online for new patients to print off and fill out to speed up the check-in process.

For your appointment, wear shoes that you use frequently, or consider bringing those pairs and any orthotics you have along with you. If you’re an athlete, bringing your athletic shoes to check for wear-and-tear patterns may be helpful as well. Skip that pedicure and come with clean nails. You may also want to write down any symptoms you’re having and questions on your mind. That way you don’t forget to mention anything during your time with the doctor.

Preparing for a podiatry visit is a small, simple way of helping you make the most of your appointment and invest in your foot health.
